Approach
Eclectic, collaborative, strength-based approach rooted in humanistic & trauma-informed CBT theories.
I am deeply committed to being an interactive, supportive, and gently challenging therapist. My priority is to build a trusting relationship where we can face life’s challenges together with honesty and compassion. Grounded in both humanistic and cognitive-behavioral theories, I incorporate evidence-based interventions to create a treatment plan that is tailored to your unique needs. My goal is to support lasting, meaningful change that empowers you to live a more intentional, fulfilling, and rewarding life.
My approach is eclectic; no “cookie cutter” approaches for me. I often utilize ideas from different theories, including Internal Family Systems (IFS), Strengths-based therapy, Trauma focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Existentialism, and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT). I strive to provide a therapeutic approach that is both compassionate and effective.
ABOUT
Mom, Stepmom, Cancer Survivor, Kickball aficionado, History enthusiast, Travel fanatic, Jane of many trades (and master of a few).
My path to becoming a therapist began later in life, though the desire to support and uplift others has always been central to who I am. By the time I chose to pursue a degree in counseling, my own life had included a number of unexpected turns—some of them traumatic—which taught me firsthand the value of having the right support system. I believe that each of us carries an inner guiding light, and my role as a therapist is to help you reconnect with it through compassionate listening, unconditional positive regard, and evidence-based therapies tailored to your individual needs.
I welcome clients from all walks of life, including men, women, youth, adults, and individuals from diverse cultural, ethnic, and LGBTQI+ communities. My areas of special interest include women’s issues, parenting, relationship dynamics, trauma recovery, and the transitions of young adulthood. As a two-time cancer survivor—once in childhood and again as an adult—I am also deeply committed to supporting individuals and families coping with serious or life-changing illnesses. I believe that with empathy and support, it is possible to find light even in life’s darkest seasons.
At home, I share life with my husband, our blended family of four teenagers, and our two dogs. We’re currently putting love and energy into restoring our fixer-upper home. In my downtime, I embrace play and curiosity—I enjoy playing in a competitive kickball league, spending time in nature, reading, and traveling to new and inspiring places.
