Areas of Expertise

Substance use disorders, trauma, anxiety, depression

Approach

I value a person-centered and empowerment-based approach that utilizes your own expertise to overcome barriers to personal fulfillment. I use an integrated approach, pulling heavily from CBT, existentialism, and psychodynamic approaches.

I have the utmost confidence in your ability to succeed and compassion for your struggles when you can’t have it for yourself. I am here to listen to your story exactly as you’ve experienced it and help you navigate changes you want to generate with empathy, encouragement, and some gentle challenging of your inner critic. In our sessions, we will discover what you value, how you can better align yourself with your values, and what gets in the way of your inner sense of peace and fulfillment.

“To know one life has breathed easier because you have lived – this is to have succeeded.”

ABOUT

Car Karaoke Enthusiast, Cozy Café Lover, Hype-Man

“What do you want to do for the rest of your life?” wasn’t really a question I could wrap my head around 18 years old (surprise!!). I got two degrees in history, worked in customer service, clerical work, and children and family services before I found my passion for helping others with the most intimate, challenging aspects of their lives and decided to pursue my Masters in Social Work. So, if you’ve ever felt a little lost, scared, or lonely as you’ve attempted to make meaning in your life, rest easy knowing that
every human does and I am here to help you through it!

I have worked with children and families in the Department of Human Services and had the privilege of helping to safely reunite several children with their families of origin. Through this work, I developed a passion for dismantling barriers for individuals struggling with substance use disorders, and I completed 900 internship hours in settings focused on providing group and individual therapy to those in early recovery over the last 2 years. This experience drove me to want to work further with individuals struggling with trauma, anxiety, and depression, however that may manifest for them. Whatever has brought you to seek therapy, my goal is to help you feel understood and supported as you work toward finding balance in life’s chaos - and hopefully help you breathe a little easier while you do it.

Professional Background

I have experience working with children, families, substance use disorders, anxiety,
depression, and trauma.
